The magazine ‘Umbrella Revolution’ talks about the events that led to the protests in Hong Kong that began in March 2019. I chose to talk about this topic because I visited Hong Kong for the first time in January 2019, just two months before the protests erupted. I wanted to convey the importance of the protests for students and citizens who bravely fought for their rights and values, despite the risks to their safety.
